Rockstar have witnessed the public outcry towards AC: Unity because of the technical problems and they are just trying to avoid this happening to their game [if] GTA V has any technical issues. Engaging with consumers before release to let them know they will be trying to rectify issues and that their game is not a cash grab.
I don't think Rockstar have anything to worry about. A big part of the public feeling is bad feeling about the whole parity issue that hasn't di...
I don't know if it was deliberate or not that the micro transactions 'feature' was not available to reviewers. However Ubisoft should have made damn sure that the servers were online for the reviewers so that they were reviewing the same game that we the public get to play, so they can accurately report what we will experience. I've read a perfect ten out ten review from PlayStation LifeStyle that makes no mention of micro transactions! I've read a perfect review (writing ...
There's a game at the 1m15s mark with a giant dragon that looks like a next-gen Monster Hunter. Any idea what it is?
Good vid, but not keen on the overly loud rock music that seems to drown out your focus on the games.
Have Ubisoft addressed the PS4 900p 20fps issues?
It's another one of the Xbox Wire post that spouts a fact that has to be qualified by an asterisk. "*In the US, based on internal data."
U.S. only, i.e. not happening in other territories. Also 'internal data' that cannot be verified by external sources.
Oh Rashid. I know you get hits this way but why flush away all credibility with these fanboy inciting tosh. It's not ever verified info. Continue this way and N4G will make you the new HHG.
TimNunes. Of course you review a game based on your own experience but a couple of points I'd like to make: It seems that, unlike other reviewers of the game, you were quite fortunate in not experiencing technical issues. Were you playing a patched copy of the game?
Also, I'm disappointed that you as a reviewer for a major PlayStation website PSU you seemed to completely ignore the 900p parity issue. Do you feel gamers are silly to care about 180p? This is important a...
As I understand it the excuse Ubisoft gave for Parity was that it would deliver a better graphical experience. But if the game is running at 900p and sometimes 20fps on PS4 and not XBO then there is a real issue. It suggest that the platform that was sponsoring the game was the lead platform with lead testing, and that the PS4 is artificially neglected with poorer performance and second-class development.
I haven't played the game so I can't give my own experience bu...
Q) What's New in Assassin's Creed Unity?
A)
In other media, previews are always meant to be written in a tone of cautious optimism. Previews should highlight the bad as well as the potential in a game. But for a title that is a year from release I think it is actually wrong for these writers to be down on a game. It is a trend I see beginning to take off because it gets hits. But it's not journalism, it's just cynical hit-bating.
Great video. Game is reviewing high on all formats, XBO, PC and PS4. Nice to see the PC Ultra settings. But when it comes to consoles I think Bioware were right to not limit the PS4 version to 900p and get the best out of every format. I wish them big success with this game and can't wait to get my copy!
"PS4/XB1 Fully Harnessed" he said on the Major Nelson Xbox podcast.
Click bait title by that hack from that disreputable UK site! Any legitimate write would say the single platform that sold the most.
@Naga. It's okay to love a game. But when you've had children it's sounds really silly to have someone compare the way you love a game to the way you love children. I love Halo. It's my favourite FPS. I don't think the reviewer is being dishonest, I think he is being honest. It's just that when you've had children you wouldn't equate the love of, say, Halo 2, to the love you feel when you first hold your child!
@LogicStomper. It's hyperbol...
Dualshockers: "Asking someone to pick their favorite Halo title is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. It’s such a difficult task because each has its own unique identity that you love and cherish."
Dat hyperbole!
I love gaming but sometimes it's best not to drink all the PR KoolAid else you sound a bit detached from reality and the review is undermined.
"Keighley has rounded up some marquee advisory board members, including ... Peter Moore (COO, Electronic Arts)... Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox, Microsoft)."
With Phil Spencer and his old boss and best friend Peter Moore I predict BIG WINS for Microsoft Xbox! Unless all votes are by the public there is a danger of substantial bias. How could GameTrailers not see the danger?
You have to click through NINE pages to read article! No thank-you.
I haven't got an XBOX yet but as a fan of the original games this looks epic, and I'm going to a friend's to play local multiplayer! I've missed this game and playing with friends so much!
However Polygon reviews require scrutiny. Sponsorship of a website is not done in a clumsy way where reviewers are told what to score a game. It's done more subtly, in this case they the editor assigns PlayStation hater Arthur Gies to review Sony flagship games like Kill...
So now we know which side Dealspwn's bread is buttered.
Ubisoft`s other game, Far Cry 4 is receiving high scores.
It demonstrates that having the PS4 as the lead console platform, and there being no artificial restraints on graphical performance benefited the XBO and PS4 version.
